Patrick Rose
Expert toxicologist (and pilot)

Having gained a wealth of regulatory toxicology experience, Patrick decided on a career in consultancy and moved to JSC in 2007. He enjoys the challenges and variety of working with many different clients to help them resolve human safety issues.

Patrick graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences and then trained as a toxicologist in a leading contract research organisation where he obtained his M.Phil degree. He wanted to develop his career further in industry and moved to the world renowned ICI Central Toxicology Laboratory in the late 80’s. Here, Patrick became involved in the toxicology project management of a range of crop protection chemicals, biocides and general chemicals.

Keen to gain knowledge and expertise in the regulatory environment, he transferred to a senior position in Zeneca Agrochemicals’ global Regulatory Affairs Department where he led a team of registration specialists. He then returned to what had then become the Syngenta Central Toxicology Laboratory, to lead a team of senior toxicologists responsible for the safety assessment of a portfolio of crop protection chemicals.

Patrick’s great interest is flying and he is a member of a local flying club where he obtained his Private Pilot’s Licence. He is also known as “Biggles” to his friends and colleagues.
