Environmental Fate
The assessment of the fate and behaviour of chemicals in the environment is a critical part of REACH and we offer specialist support in every area.
Predicted Environmental Concentrations (PEC) of substances in each environmental compartment are calculated to provide the basic exposure values used in the environmental risk assessment. PEC values can also be compared with important triggers for further higher tier testing.EUSES is the basic tool used to calculate Predicted Environmental Concentrations (PEC) in soil, groundwater, surface water and air. However, determining the appropriate input values for the model, even for the initial assessment, can be quite challenging. JSC has extensive experience of environmental modelling, a comprehensive understanding of the models involved and an appreciation of the practical way in which chemicals are used. This expertise allows us to refine the input parameters to produce higher tier assessments. We additionally specialise in presenting detailed modelling to ECHA.
Our cross discipline approach additionally enables our experts to work together, to quickly and comprehensively address the issues and obtain a regulatory conclusion.
