Chemical Safety Assessment

Our experienced toxicologists and risk assessors can conduct safety assessments and produce Chemical Safety Reports, undertake a skilful interpretation of data and ensure the best regulatory outcome.

REACH requires that chemicals must be shown to be safe during manufacture, formulation and use by consumers or professionals, by conducting an in depth risk assessment, considering both chronic and acute exposure. This forms the basis of the Chemical safety assessment, which is incorporated into the Chemical Safety Report and is required for substance manufactured or imported in quantities of 10 Tonnes or more per year.

JSC provides advice on the exposure information required to complete the safety assessments. A number of generic exposure assessment models have been developed that, depending on how the chemical is handled and used, may provide a suitable basis for assessing exposure.
