Guidelines on comparability, extrapolation, group tolerances and data requirements for setting MRLs

A new version of guideline document SANCO 7525/VI/95 - rev.9 has been published.  Amongst the changes is a list of ‘new major crops’ which will impact on the number of residue trials needed. 

• Northern Europe - Cherries, Beetroot, Pepper, Watermelons, Sunflower seed, Soya bean
• Southern Europe - Cherries, Beetroot, Pepper, Watermelons, Sunflower seed, Soya bean, Plums, Kiwi, Courgettes, Watermelons, Cauliflowers, Peas without pods, Rape seed
• World - Kiwi, Pineapple, Beetroot, Courgettes, Watermelons

Applicants are given until 1 April 2013 to generate additional data for these crops and apply for MRLs.  As 2 years of data are required for outdoor trials under current data requirements this will mean testing needs to start in 2011.
