Operator Exposure
The two key aspects of any risk assessment are hazard and exposure. In recent years the focus has shifted towards estimating potential levels of exposure for Operators, Bystanders, Workers and also Residents through appropriate modelling. Whether you are pursuing Annex I listing or negotiating national re-registration, we are able to provide expert advice at every stage.
As part of the EU review of plant protection products (91/414/EEC) and despite the availability of EUROPOEM surrogate data, the use of older German, UK and Dutch models for operator exposure are still widely accepted. The revision to 91/414/EEC will require the need to distinguish between bystander and residential exposure, for which approved guidance is still required. A current review of all available data to support these various assessments has been made by EFSA and its conclusions are expected to form the basis for future guidance on appropriate models and estimations of risk.JSC is able to help you use the latest approaches to evaluate critically both the hazard and exposure based on your proposed GAP. Human risk assessment requires a multidisciplinary approach, whether supporting AOELs from toxicological studies, modelling exposure scenarios, or generating higher tier data such as dermal absorption or actual field studies.
