Procedure for the assessment of new active substances

The European Commission has recently issued a new regulation setting out procedures and timelines for the assessment of new active substances. Commission Regulation (EU) No 188/2011 provides the regulatory basis for the assessment of active substances which were not on the market before 25 July 1993.  The regulation includes transitional measures to take account of active substances which are currently at different stages in the EU regulatory procedure.
