Member States evaluate certain substances to clarify whether their use poses a risk to human health or the environment. Substance evaluation is the process under REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 that allows for clarification of such potential risks. The objective is to request further information from the registrants of the substance to verify the suspected concern, if necessary.
ECHA proposes to include 107 substances in the Community rolling action plan (CoRAP) for 2018 – 2020 to be evaluated by the Member States. In many cases the initial concerns are related to PBT-properties, suspected endocrinedisruption, or carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic properties in combination with wide dispersive use or consumer uses.
ECHA encourages registrants of the listed substances to start coordinating their actions and to contact the evaluating authorities in the Member States. Downstream users of the listed substances are invited to review the information they hold and share with registrants.
The draft CoRAP list of substances has been published under the following link: https://echa.europa.eu/documents/10162/13628/corap_list_2018-2020_en.pdf/3be44b84-5d72-01fe-f8d7-3a5a9c27951e
