New enforcement project: Control of classification and labelling of mixtures

The inspectors in EU and EEA Member States (31 countries in total) started verification of mixtures under the project REF-6 in January 2018. The aim of the project is to check obligations under CLP Regulation. The inspection covers classification and labelling of mixtures including the check of relevant parts of the SDS and also optional modules to decide by each Member State:

  • Exemptions concerning labelling and packaging requirements,
  • The obligation to apply harmonised classification and labelling (CLH),
  • The specific requirements of the CLP Regulation for liquid laundry detergent capsules (LLDCs),
  • The authorisation and labelling of biocidal products.

The inspection activities will continue throughout 2018. A report on the results of the inspections will be available in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The REF (REACH-EN-FORCE) projects are carried out by inspectors based in the national authorities in the participating Member States.
